les Esbelliousses

A set of two wallpapers, simply made from a picture taken during a walk in the Southern French Alps.

Concept

These wallpapers are a first experiments in creative retouching. There are based on a photography of a pass near the source of the Var River, made during a walk near the Cayolle Lake, in the Southern French Alps.

The initial version, titled Ubaye 04 —due to the amusing coincidence which has made synchronize the current year and the two digits from the code of this “département”— was renamed les Esbelliousses, in order to clearly distinguish this project from an icons set which uses the same name.

History

Version 1 (2005–2007)

03.  Version 1.1 — les Esbelliousses

This very first manipulation is slightly updated and renamed:

  1. a new version —which uses an other saturation parameter— is added
  2. the logo was erased onto these two files
  3. the two files are now include in a compressed 7Z archive

By the way, in order to clearly distinguish this project from an icons set wich uses the same name, these two wallpapers are renamed les Esbeslliousses —the name of the pass observable on these pictures.

Version 1.1 — les Esbelliousses

02.  Version 1.0

The first submission of this wallpaper has been deleted from customize.org, because it “lacks a little vividness colorwise” and therefore “was below the current site standards”.

But considering this first attempt is neither more ugly nor more bad than those which can be found sometimes, this experiment is anew available, but of course on an other site: deviantART.

01.  Version 1.0 — Ubaye 04

Initial experiment in creative retouching, this wallpaper —a single file— is a first premier attempt submitted online. Its title —also used by the style of the second version of the GizMecano Laboratory— is due to the coincidence which has made synchronize the current year and the two digits from the code of this “département”.
